How is the measure "study time" determined?

Hi there,

I am in the process of making my study schedule and wanted to know how study time is determined for each lesson. For example, some lessons are "4 hours", while another are 1 day. Currently, I am assuming that 1 day = 4.5 hours of study time, which would mean 1 week = 31.5 hours. Does this sound reasonable? Essentially, I am asking what is the equivalent of 1 study day, in hours.

  • Great question. The study time is rather subjective and is based on the experience of our content team as well as feedback received from users over time. Our philosophy has been one day equals one working day, so around 8 - 9 hours of study time. The study times should be used as a guide alongside the ranking table to help you decide where to efficiently spend your time. Some readings may be less important but still take a lot of time for example.

It's up to each user to decide if they want to break "a day" into several smaller pieces spread out over a period of time or if they prefer to tackle an entire wiki article in one go.

Our experience has indicated it's generally challenging to pass Fellowship exams without at least 200-250hours of studying (including review time). If you have any tips or tricks for efficiently studying we'd love to hear them!
