The NCCI experience rating plan is included within the CAS study kit. For a long time the split point was $5,000. However, recently it has increased. In the exam they would either tell you the split point in the question or in the given study manual extracts. In the case they didn't tell you the split point, stating you assume the split point is $5,000 would be acceptable.
We've tried to avoid hardcoding the split point to reduce the risk of outdated information in our materials. We're still considering how best to clean up the old CAS exam questions to make them fully standalone.

The NCCI experience rating plan is a split loss rating plan so it accounts for both frequency and severity. The split point is where we cap the losses. See https://battleacts8.ca/8/wiki/index.php?title=NCCI.ExperienceRating#Actual_Losses
