Hi,

The reason why there is no old exams for this paper, is that because it is a new paper? Is it very different to the old NCCI retrospective rating plan?

    Yes, the NCCI circular became part of the syllabus starting in Fall 2020. Since the CAS is no longer releasing the exam questions we're unable to provide old exam questions for this reading.

    The concepts are similar to the old NCCI retrospective rating plan and those seen in the Fisher reading. However, the methodology has been updated so the calculations involved are different.

    Thank you. Could you provide some more practice questions for the new calculation? I think we just have 2 questions to calculate basic premium factor. It will be great if we can have some practice for other steps.

    Hi.

    I finally realized that after the basic factor calculation, the rest of the steps are straightforward and covered by Fisher. So, I don't think need more practice for the next steps.

    However, I would feel it may be great if we can have some more practice on the 2 examples of Information Exhibits. We may have to do some Panjer process and discretize some severity distribution a little bit more complex than 0-10 uniform. What do you think?

    Thank you for your suggestion. We are working on producing some original problems on this topic but are unlikely to have them ready for release in time for the Fall 2022 sitting.
